Yarn Minders help protect your beautiful squishy yarn from common mishaps while knitting from centre-pull yarn cakes. 

Yarn Minders keep your yarn clean and protect it from snags in your project bag. Unlike yarn cozies, they have a bottom, so they can comfortably hold your yarn cake from beginning to end, keeping it tangle-free even when the centre is gone and the cake collapses into a yarny mess.

Have you given up on centre-pull cakes because your yarn gets overtwisted while knitting? To prevent this, it may help to carefully push the inner yarn tail down through the centre of the cake and out the bottom as you take it off the winder. I find this helps reverse any extra twist added by my winder.

Does your yarn cake sometimes fall off your lap and roll across the floor? Does your cat think it's a toy? Slip the drawstring over your wrist or hang it nearby to keep it handy as you knit, or tuck it in your project bag or purse for knitting on the go. Your yarn minder will feed centre-pulled yarn to you efficiently, so you can settle into the peaceful rhythm and flow of your knitting.  

Yarn Minders are generously sized (5.5 x 6") and will stretch to comfortably hold yarn cakes of 100g or more from beginning to end.  

As an added bonus, they can also serve as reusable gift bags for the socks and mittens you knit!

Design Collections

All the fabric designs in these collections have been carefully selected from the works of experienced and emerging fabric artists from around the world. They celebrate the things I love that inspire me: fibre arts; Celtic interlace; knitting and crochet as a mindfulness practice; Canada generally and beautiful British Columbia specifically; the beauty of nature and the changing seasons; and the simple comforts of family, home and garden. Items marked "Donation Item" are fundraisers for causes I support.

The yarn minder fabric is custom printed in the USA for Yarn Minders on quality cotton spandex jersey made from 93% cotton, 7% spandex. The DPN Minders are made from 100% organic cotton sateen. All my products are made by me in my smoke free, pet free home.

Knitting Notions

Strong, flexible and light, my loop stitch markers are made with plastic coated steel wire and are very comfortable to knit with. They settle in between your stitches, dangle in front of your work, and don't interfere with your fingers as you knit.

These stitch markers and progress keepers were previously sold in my Etsy shop: Catalpa Cottage Crafts. Some of them are also sold currently in my new Yarn Minders Etsy shop
